The Snot People

I was surprised to discover an interesting fact surrounding the name of the city where I'm living here in the UK.

According to Wikipedia, the name Nottingham is derived from a Saxon Chieftan named Snot. And in fact Snot's people lived right on the site where I work in town called the Lace Market.
